Look Back, Give Forward, Lift Up for the High Holidays

by 14th Street Y

Join the 14th Street Y and your downtown community for the Jewish New Year and High Holidays by giving forward and lifting up our neighbors in need!

In honor of the High Holidays, which begin on Rosh Hashanah and end with Yom Kippur, we're focusing on the Jewish tradition of tzedakah—performing righteous deeds and supporting charitable causes.

Our downtown community is rich in diversity, home to people of many religions, cultures, and backgrounds. But we also know that many of our neighbors need help. Since the Jewish New Year is a time of reflection and renewal, this is the perfect time to look back, give forward, and work together to lift up those in need!

Join us in lifting up our community this Jewish New Year by giving forward.

Four Ways You Can Help:

  1. Donate baby items to families in Head Start’s Home-Based Program
  2. Donate kosher non-perishable items to seniors at Project ORE
  3. Donate non-perishable food items to those in need in Downtown Manhattan, as part of a food program offered by the Center for Recovery and Wellness
  4. Make a donation.

By donating to the 14th Street Y, your dollar impacts so many. Every dollar donated to the 14th Street Y ensures you’re supporting the whole community.

Join this exciting campaign as a way to reflect on the past year and find ways to sweeten the year ahead with small actions that make a big difference to your community.
