During the current COVID-19 health and financial challenge, no group has experienced greater vulnerability and adverse impact than low income individuals of color with disabilities.

According to the latest US Department of Labor data through June 1, 2020, twenty percent of working-age adults with disabilities lost their jobs due to COVID-19. Thirty-five percent of people of color with disabilities lost their jobs during the same time period. As the COVID-19 challenges continue, with over 50 million people displaced from the workforce, there is growing evidence that many of those jobs will not be reopened. One of the few paths out of poverty for people with disabilities is the opportunity presented by entrepreneurship and self-employment.

This campaign will help us build the organizational infrastructure needed to support over 100 Disabled Entrepreneurs in 2021.
