In mid-March, following stay-at-home orders, A House in Austin put on hold our entire in person programming, including home visiting, music classes, and parent chat.
Through the amazing dedication of our staff, we have modified programming to provide our families a sense of community even while we are physically separated. Parent Chat and home visiting are now conducted through Zoom, and plans for video options of the music classes are underway.
As a result of extended stay-at-home by Governor Pritzker, our much anticipated fundraising event at Midwest Coast Brewing scheduled for April 22 has been canceled.
However, while we can no longer enjoy an evening of tacos and beer together, we do still need your help to not only continue the online support for our families throughout this crisis, but to allow us to open the doors of our parent-child center once this over.

A House in Austin provides parent child centered programming on the west side of Chicago. With a mission to nurture secure bonds for healthy families and bright futures, we currently provide parent child music classes, home visiting, and a weekly parents group with free childcare. We are in the midst of renovating a house at 533 N Pine that will become our parent-child center starting in late summer 2020. The house will allow us to expand our programming and provide a safe space within the community for therapy and early intervention with our partner organizations. Your financial support is needed to allow us to continue to offer our programming and to help us open the doors to the parent-child center.
