Mission Statement

The mission of A Wombman’s Way Warrior Midwife Training Program is to transform maternal and infant health by training midwives to provide comprehensive, culturally competent, and trauma-informed care that improves outcomes for women, families, and communities.

A Wombman’s Way Warrior Midwife Training envisions a world where every woman and birthing person is supported by a well-trained, culturally grounded midwife rooted in justice, compassion, and ancestral wisdom—ensuring safe, sacred, and empowered birth experiences for all.

A Wombman’s Way Warrior Midwife Training Program (AWWWMT) was born from a profound place of purpose—rooted in my personal journey as a midwife, educator, healthcare professional, and servant leader with over three decades of experience. It emerged in response to two urgent realities: the ongoing maternal health crisis in the U.S., and the longstanding underrepresentation of diverse voices in midwifery—especially those from communities who have always been central to its legacy.

This program is not simply a school; it is a living expression of love, justice, and healing. Inspired by the wisdom and work of traditional midwives—especially the countless midwives who served families, communities, and the nation at large—AWWWMT honors those who came before us. These foremothers were birth workers, healers, and protectors of sacred knowledge, whose contributions were unjustly marginalized or erased. We exist to restore, remember, and carry forward that legacy while building bridges for future generations.

AWWWMT is a culturally grounded, trauma-informed training program that welcomes all who align with our vision. We blend ancient wisdom with modern science to prepare students to serve diverse communities with clinical excellence and cultural humility. Our mission is guided by birth justice and reproductive justice frameworks, which demand that we create environments where future midwives can thrive intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally.
