135 Miles for 135 Lives

Why We Move

Every day in 2023, 135 people died by suicide. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for young people ages 15–24.

Men die by suicide nearly four times as often as women because of the Man Box, an illustration of the collective socialization of men; the rigid rules that teach men not to ask for help, or show weakness, and always be in control. These outdated rules cost lives.

Together, we can change that.

From September 7–30, 2025, pledge to move with us.
Collectively log 135 miles (and beyond).
Raise $25000. The proceeds will go to support The Donny Hathaway Legacy Project, an organization that “provides holistic mental and emotional health-related education, advocacy and essential resources,” AND A Call to Men to further programming for men’s mental health.

How to Join

Step One: Pledge Your Miles and Financial Commitment

Pick a meaningful number: 13.5, 27, 54, or the full 135 miles.
Match your miles with dollars (example – $10 per mile).
OR choose a symbolic amount to donate $135, $270, $540, $1,350. The choice is yours!
Join Strava AND post your pledge on the page in the Strava Club. Example: I am pledging ________ miles for the 135 challenge. You can even post a pic (if you want)!

You can choose to donate BEFORE or AFTER your physical challenge is complete.

You can choose to dedicate your pledge to honor someone you love.

Step Two: Move Your Way

Walk, hike, run, bike or move however you choose.
Log your activity in our Strava Club and watch our collective progress grow.

Step Three: Share & Invite Support

Post updates on social media with #135for135.
Ask friends and family to sponsor your miles.Give/Pledge any amount. Every gift matters. Every step saves lives.
