Art In Motion (AIM) is Chicago’s premier creative arts school. The AIM student experience is student-centered, arts-infused, and personalized for every learner. Our unique focus on the arts, culture, and social emotional learning, coupled with the middle school to high school model holistically supports our students for a thriving future. Located on Chicago’s Southside, we nurture, celebrate, and share the creativity, culture, and originality of our vibrant students and community.


Chicago native, Oscar and Grammy award-winning artist, author, and activist COMMON, along with community development champion, New Life Covenant Church Southeast, and innovative school design experts, Distinctive Schools, have partnered to bring this vision of holistic learning to a community much in need of this well-spring. 


Art In Motion is home to 259 thriving student artists. We look forward to our first high school class graduating in 2024. AIM has received applications from over 500 students for the Fall of 2021.
