In recognition of Frank T. Martin's more than 45-year career within the public transportation industry, this scholarship will support scholars studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate-level student with the intent to pursue a career in public transportation. Scholarships are intended for those enrolled at Florida Polytechnic, Fisk, or Tennessee State Universities.

The American Public Transportation Foundation (APTF) is the charitable affiliate of the American Public Transportation Association. The APTF is incorporated as a 5​01 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in the District of Columbia.

Mission: To increase and retain the number of individuals choosing the transit field as a career by providing scholarships and engagement opportunities to deserving students and transit professionals – our future leaders.
