The Associação Irmã Dulce dos Pobres (Sister Dulce dos Pobres Association) was founded on June 30, 2011, by Sr. Maria Iêda de Sousa, missionary of the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD, and is a non-profit entity in Santarem, Brazil.

Its mission is to help others without distinction in all aspects, inspired by the charism of the Holy Dulce of the Poor, walking in society, but just and fraternal, where everyone can act as true citizens in their communities, we seek to help and welcome those people who seek the project Irmã Dulce dos Pobres, in their dignity for a better quality of life.

The Association has space for general support of the project, which consists of listening service, complementary health care, through popular medicine, homeopathic, floral therapies, and massage therapy. In addition to these services, we offer courses in crafts, music, capoeira, and English classes. Music classes, which are performed in the Cultural Space room. We have the support of academics from universities and federal institutes, religious groups, friends, and projects that aim to promote activities such as socio-educational lectures, exams, health and well-being, and actions aimed at the environment that reach adults and children.

We currently have 130 registered families and serve 150 children, from needy families and family breakdown. We offer courses for children and teenagers such as English, Capoeira, Guitar, flute and training classes for adults and young people, artisan workshops, such as crochet, string, hammock, painting, etc; for the general public we serve with complementary health and psychological care.
