You can do all of this and more by supporting the mission of the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport. It is ACAF's mission to support, cultivate, and promote local arts and culture in Freeport, Durham, and Pownal. 

Our community has a long history of participation in and appreciation for arts and culture. The mission of the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport (ACAF) is to expand on that tradition by fostering collaboration, increased opportunity and access for the benefit of all. One way that the organization will achieve its goals is by creating a hub for arts & culture in the heart of downtown Freeport - Meetinghouse Arts.

 

Meetinghouse Arts is a collaboration between the Arts And Cultural Alliance of Freeport (ACAF) and the First Parish Congregational Church of Freeport (FPC) to develop a 200 seat performance venue and a top-notch visual arts gallery on the first floor of the church at 40 Main St. ACAF is hopeful that restoration and renovation efforts will begin in the Spring of 2020.

 

The benefits of Meetinghouse Arts are far-ranging. Benefits include:

  • the preservation and maintenance of a historic structure 
  • the creation of an intimate, state of the art performance venue for use by for student and community groups as well as artists and ensembles with a broader regional appeal, 
  • gallery space for visual art created by local artists as well shows with significant historic and cultural appeal.
  • harnessing the power of the arts, culture, and creativity for change, growth and transformation that builds our community's character and quality of place
