Developing young leaders through the arts, culture, and sciences of the African Diaspora.

What if we looked at the continent of Africa and the many communities that call her mother as assets to our understanding of our human condition? What if we looked upon the mother continent as a rich tapestry that birthed science, technology, mathematics, medicine, and so many other contributions to the world? This is what we aim to do at ARTS Us.

For over 20 years, this tiny organization has developed young people through the arts, culture, and sciences of the African Diaspora. Covid-19 has, unfortunately, taken this purely in-person, experience-based organization and model and removed a vital component – the ability to be physically in community. But in struggle we thrive, as we have retooled to a food center and digital content hub that is working to employ youth as their own summer jobs disappear.

But we need your help to reach this goal. By instilling a positive view of Africa, her people, and her many cultures around the globe, we not only bind ourselves together in a global shared community, but we birth scientists, educators, doctors, and yes, even a Mayor or two. We instill a pride in all children and an appreciation of people who have been responsible for holding this nation accountable to our highest ideals.

Through Dance, visual arts, ethnic studies and civil rights research experiences, to hydroponics and youth lead facilitation, the spirit of the ancestors move through us all here at ARTS Us. You can be a part of bringing these experiences and more to our community.

In a time when we all need healing, what better way to contribute than to invest in the youth who will be the next leaders of our many nations. You can donate by texting GIVE2ARTSUS to 44-321. Your contributions will make it possible to feed communities, digitally train and engage youth, keep summer jobs for young people, and make available an online platform for Afrocentric learning.
