“Artists are holding this country together in a time when we feel fractured and torn apart.”
“There is a resurgence for racism against our communities and I believe to offer a sense of visibility, awareness, and belonging; we as a community need to show that we are resilient.”
“A4 has opened doors for me, made valuable connections, and welcomed me into an Asian American community that I had never experienced previously.”
“I'm very grateful you all took the time to reach out to us and listen to us... It really felt like a safe and supportive environment.”
“A4 is an example of the kind of community that I have always wanted to be involved with.”
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and as we reflect on and celebrate our history and identity as Asian Americans, it is more important than ever to create space to uplift each other. Over the past few weeks, we at A4 have worked quickly to serve artists’ most immediate needs, such as seeking ways to help them stay afloat financially, offering strategies to stand up to anti-Asian racism, and continuing to make space for artists to connect with each other. We recently conducted a survey of the community's most pressing needs, and as their responses in the quotes above affirm, artists and arts workers rely on A4 to find a supportive, creative community and obtain resources they need to survive and thrive.
Please consider making a donation to A4.
You can make a difference in the lives of Asian American artists and arts workers in these difficult times by supporting our mission to provide the resources and access to visibility and community that are so needed right now. Your donation will help to sustain these artists in this time of isolation and uncertainty.
Thank you for standing with us as we stand up for Asian American stories and reaffirm the importance of the arts right now.
