• receive the appropriate device based upon the indicated therapy
• be safe from harm related to the insertion, use, and removal of the device in any healthcare setting 
• have the provision of vascular access care managed by vascular access specialists utilizing evidence-based practice and advanced technology applications be assessed for outcomes to advance the science of vascular access patient safety
