We will come out of this stronger, all of us

When it became clear that the youth we serve and their families were facing disproportionate impacts to their job security, housing, and wages as a result of COVID-19, we knew we had to figure out a way to do more.

In the face of rising unemployment, our work persists. With your help, BAYCAT will increase the number of paid opportunities for San Francisco youth in need over the next four months. We’ll continue to employ our paid young adult Studio interns this spring and fall, even should shelter in place continue, honing their creative talents and providing them a competitive edge in this uncertain job market.

Instead of our free summer media camps, we’ll pay youth to use their creative media skills to provide nonprofits with pro-bono media production services, which provides economic relief for youth and their families and extends the circle of giving to our local community.

You can be assured that 100% of your gift will go directly to help BAYCAT youth, young adults and create socially conscious media because our board, grant funders and private donors already cover our admin and fundraising costs.

  • $40,000 of our $50,000 goal will be paid in wages or stipends to middle and high school-aged youth in District 10 and our young adult Studio interns
  • Any additional funds will cover program costs like teaching artist wages

Our communities deserve to thrive now — not just when the storm passes. With your support, we will come out of this stronger, all of us.
