The Black Stories Reading Challenge Fund

by The Black Syllabus

The Black Stories Reading Challenge gives children of color the opportunity to engage with Black literature for a monetary prize. Children of color ages 12 and under are welcome to sign up and submit a book report demonstrating comprehension and retention in order to receive a $50 prize.

Participants will be selected on a rolling, first come first serve basis as funds become available. This ongoing campaign will allow us to disburse prizes to applicants on an ongoing basis. Therefore, there is no deadline or fundraising goal. When children apply and there are no funds available, they will be added to a waitlist and notified once additional funds are available.

(Please note that even if there is money raised here, that does not necessarily indicate that there are funds available to disburse as these funds may have already been allocated/disbursed to current/past applicants. I will do my best to keep this description updated with how many awards have been disbursed to date.)

Please continue to share this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. For more information and to apply, please visit this link. Thank you for supporting The Black Stories Reading Challenge!
