Blessings in a Backpack became a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008, providing backpacks full of food to kids on the weekend every Friday who might otherwise go hungry. Since 2008, we have made more than 20 million hunger-free weekends a reality for kids across America—thank you!
The Half Hollow Hills, NY program was started in 2013 in one middle school with the goal to provide hunger-free weekends to the children of our community. We have made quite an impact in the last five and a half years, expanding to all nine schools in the district, and we plan to serve only more kids in the future.
In the national charity's 10th birthday year, we want to help provide even more hunger-free weekends to children living with food insecurity. With your help, we can do this!
For as little as $120, you can provide an entire school year of hunger-free weekends to a kid in need. We hope you will partner with us to end childhood hunger.
