Providing Harlem’s children and youth with critical academic and social emotional supports is needed now more than ever and Boys & Girls Club of Harlem is answering the call. They have shifted their on-site programming to virtual in these early weeks of the pandemic.
Daily, BGCHarlem offers academic enrichment and social emotional supports to both its young members of its six school-based and community center clubhouses across the Harlem community so they can move through this moment resilient. BGCHarlem is also directly engaging with families to provide “live” resource lists which include information to help them navigate this crises informed and equipped. This includes information to support academic enrichment, access basic needs and receive critical supports. In the coming days and weeks, BGCHarlem will roll out a schedule of live, interactive online events and activities to appropriate for all young people.
Weekly we are distributing at least 200 meals to families in our community in partnership with the Food Bank of New York and the New York City Collaborative of Boys & Girls Clubs.
