Just like the rest of the world children and families in our community have been negatively impacted by COVID-19! As you may know, Pasquotank County Schools will be providing virtual learning ONLY for students through the end of October....maybe even longer.
The majority of the children we serve are from disadvantaged backgrounds and lack the resources necessary to thrive in an online school environment.
That's why the BGC in Elizabeth City is doing Whatever It Takes to fill the void to assist children with virtual learning.
Beginning August 17th, our Club will be open for extended hours, Monday through Friday, to serve children in our community by helping them navigate the virtual school environment. Our expert staff will be available to provide technical assistance and guidance for children during the virtual school day.
Without these resources our children risk falling even further behind in school.
The uncertainty we feel as a result of COVID-19 is what many of our Club kids feel every day! Now, more than ever, our children, and their families, need to feel safe and know that the Boys & Girls Club is still here to support them.
In addition to providing assistance with virtual learning, kids will be able to take part in our typical fun and enriching recreational and social activities when they log out of the classroom. This will ensure that our most vulnerable have the opportunity to engage with their peers and form lasting, life changing, positive relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
Please consider making an investment for children in our community!!
We believe that all children deserve a chance to succeed! There is nothing more important you can do for Elizabeth City than to invest in our children!
