COVID-19 has left one million Massachusetts residents unemployed, and SNAP applications have increased by 360%. Lawrence has been hit hard - with 1 in 4 residents reporting as positive.

Opportunities for the homeless to safely quarantine have ended, area shelters are reducing their capacity. As we head into summer, Covid-19 continues to devastate the most vulnerable members of our community. Food insecurity looms large for our homeless, immigrants and seniors as they face even greater economic hardship, isolation and fewer places to turn to for help.

The newly unemployed unfamiliar with "the system" struggle to find food and other supports. We expect a surge in the number of individuals and families seeking support when supplementary unemployment funds end July 31.

Since the pandemic began, we've delivered over 100,000 pounds of food to local agencies, churches and the homeless of Lawrence.

The outpouring of support from our donors and partners has made this possible. Thank you for showing your solidarity and compassion for our struggling neighbors in this unprecedented crisis.

Uncertainty is the word of the day. We're unsure of what tomorrow will bring, but our resolve to continue our response to this staggering reality on the ground in Lawrence and surrounding communities is unwavering. Even if it gets worse before it gets better, we'll be keeping our outreach efforts going to help as many people as possible.

With you behind us, we can continue connecting those most in-need with food and other critical supports in real time, with no hoops to jump through. Already pitched in or unable to at this time? Share this page with friends and family or start your own fundraising page!

Your passion for the mission is what keeps us pushing ahead.
Thank you for all you do and please stay safe.
