Our rising 8th and 9th graders are eager to return for their six-week summer session of learning, empowered by culturally competent Teaching Fellows. We are also readying ourselves to welcome a new cohort of rising 7th grade students.
Thanks to a multi-year commitment from Cargill Foundation, Breakthrough Twin Cities will extend its programming beyond St. Paul to 40 students in Eastern Carver County.
While this is great news, Breakthrough is facing challenging times. For the first time in our history, we have had to cancel our singular fundraising event – the Booyah Bash – which generates nearly 25% of our annual budget. We are facing the harsh reality that we need to replace $175,000 in revenue before June 1.
We remain committed to providing exceptional programming in summer 2020 and we are developing the most viable and safe program delivery method, be it in-person or through a virtual platform. Regardless of our delivery method, we will ensure quality content and a great experience for our students and Teaching Fellows.
Your gift provides critical financial support and confidence-building encouragement for our students and Teaching Fellows.
