Donate to Broad Room’s Cosmic Library program, which offers free new art supplies for Sacramento area artists who have experienced financial hardship during the Covid-19 pandemic. No one should have to give up their art practice now especially when the arts are integral to healing, education, and building community. With venue and school closures, loss of gigs, job disruptions, and health risks local artists will turn to Broad Room for much needed support. We can’t do it alone, so if you can donate, please do.

🪐What is the Cosmic Library?🪐

The Cosmic Library was born out of a need expressed by artists who have been financially harmed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to funding from the City of Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture, we were able to start this program and distribute $5,000 in free new art supplies to Sacramento artists through the end of 2020.

But we don’t want to stop in January! In order to keep this program running, we need your help!

Here’s what we need -- $3,000/month. That’s just 100 people pledging to donate $30/month to keep this program going.

With $3,000 per month in recurring donations we will be able to:

  • Hire a part-time program coordinator!
  • Purchase + distribute $1,500 in free new art supplies every month!
  • Continue to offer use of our heat press for free!
  • Keep stocked up on free pads + tampons plus PPE we need to keep our team and the public safe!

We are actively pursuing other funding sources, but they aren’t a sure thing yet. We need you, our community of arts supporters, to ensure that folks who have been financially harmed by the pandemic are able to continue creating and pivot their businesses to work during this unprecedented time.

Not only is Broad Room supporting artists in our community through the Cosmic Library, we are also working towards adding jobs for creatives in our community.

When we hit our $3,000 in monthly donations goal, we will be able to hire our first employee! Through your generous monthly pledge, we will be able to provide free new art supplies to dozens of artists every month and offer employment to a local creative.
