The Moth Migration Project is an on-going crowd-sourced collection of hand printed, drawn and cut paper moths that engages communities in both science and art. Choosing moths, a nocturnal pollinator, as the vehicle for cross-pollination and international exchange, and utilizing social media I invited people to create moths native to their geographic location which are then exhibited at international locations. Why do we need to raise this money? Here are just a few examples of our expenses: Hire Assistant to develop database and catalogs every artist, their geographic location and image of moths Hire photographer to document each moth and prepare image for database Hire web developer to expand and maintain moth migration.net website Hire social media marketer to promote project Hire designer for postcards, logos and print materials Pay for printed postcards and materials. Pay artists and entomologists to conduct community printmaking workshops and science coursed about moth making and habitats Pay for teaching materials; paper, ink, press, tools. Pay for web hosting. Pay for both national and international postage Pay for exhibition installers Pay for travel to exhibition sites.
