Darren Pudgil for Dancing With Our Stars 2020

by The California Center for the Arts, Escondido

Darren is one of ten local community and business leaders performing in the California Center for the Arts 5th Annual Dancing With Our Stars fundraiser. Just like the tv show, each volunteer dancer is paired with a professional dance instructor to master a routine and compete for the audience's adoration.

On top of volunteering their time to learn choreography to put on a fantastic show, our dancers join together to help raise $175,000 to benefit arts education and engagement. Support your favorite dancer and help them reach their goal by contributing today!

About Darren

Darren Pudgil enjoys boating in the San Diego Bay, and telling anyone who will listen about his football playing days at Chula Vista High School. He also happily provides resources to help journalism students at his alma mater, San Diego State University.

After spending many years working in politics for the likes of San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and future California First Lady Maria Shriver, he started his own public relations firm, Pudgil and Company.

Darren has donated his time and marketing expertise to DWOS and is excited to return as a contestant this year having also competed in 2018. While far from being a professionally-trained dancer, as a teenager he did spend many, many nights south of the border gliding across the dance floors of Tijuana, Mexico. As a contestant in this year’s DWOS fundraiser, he hopes to bring home an award or two – and not end up on America’s Funniest Home videos.

Darren will be dancing with Alyssa Junious from Continuum Dance Project.
