"Prisons do not disappear social problems, they disappear human beings." - Angela Davis

Women are the fastest-growing prison population in the US, with over 1.2 million women under correctional supervision. The violence of these systems radiates far past prison, jail, and detention center walls - 1 in 4 women has a family member in prison, and this affects families, housing, job security, and so much more.

Imagine if we mobilized to change that.  Calling All Crows and the multifaith initiative Ending Mass Incarceration have joined together to mobilize music and faith communities to fight against criminalization and its impact on women.

The Unlocked Voices campaign goals are to:

  • Amplify the stories of people, especially women, impacted by incarceration;
  • Act in partnership with existing movement leaders and community organizations as we bring in new supporters;
  • Produce an 8-part concert series to connect movement leaders with new supporters, celebrate the movement, and drive action;
  • Educate and activate music and faith communities to take action to end mass criminalization

The incarceration of women does not make anyone safer but perpetuates cycles of criminalization and mass incarceration within their families and communities. Join us in this movement by showing your financial support!
