Survivors rely on CARDV for invaluable services, and we rely on donations from the community to be able to sustain services. Your past support has made a difference for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Below is a note from Alexis*, a survivor whose life was greatly impacted by your generosity.
“I’m thankful to say we are safe and happy, but it hasn’t always been this way for us. A while ago, my friend who knew about what was happening at home, gave me CARDV’s number. It got so bad that my daughter started being scared to come home.
It was then I knew it was time to call CARDV and see how they could help us. I told the advocate what was happening and that I didn’t feel like my daughter and I were safe at home. The advocate and I made a plan to meet at the courthouse so I could file a restraining order. After that, my daughter and I moved into CARDV’s shelter while I figured out what to do next.
That time of my life was pretty stressful, but CARDV was there for me when I needed it the most. They helped us find our new home and get my daughter into a new school. I am happy to say we are both doing well and enjoying our time together. Thank you for helping to make all of this possible for us.” - Alexis
In order to sustain CARDV services for survivors of sexual and domestic violence, we need your continued support! Will you join me this holiday season and make a donation to ensure survivors and their children continue to receive life-saving services?
Wishing you peaceful holidays,
P.S. Don’t forget, mandatory IRA distributions for people age 70½ and over can be donated to CARDV tax-free!
