The mission of Amani ya Juu is to live out peace and reconciliation on a daily basis through holistic development and social economic profitable enterprise. The women at Amani Uganda sustain themselves and their families by creating beautiful home goods and accessories at our center in Gulu, Uganda, which are then sold in the US and Kenya. In addition to getting paid beyond fair trade wages, certified by the Fair Trade Federation, Amani Uganda provides loving community and support in life to all of its members.

The largest obstacle to Amani Uganda’s future growth lies with their facilities. They have been renting a startup shop for the past 7 years that has worked for their needs, but it has always been a monthly burden to make the rent payment, and additionally they have outgrown the space! If we work together, we can gather the funds needed to purchase Amani Uganda a permanent home. $25,000 is enough for a down payment on a facility that will offer more operation space, opportunity to open a café for year-round income, and area to farm to hedge against lean times. Our ultimate goal is to raise $90,000 to purchase the facility outright, and with your help we can do it!
