For the last 12 years, as part of our annual Ramadan Gifts Program, the Coalition for Civil Freedoms has sent gifts of $100 to the commissary accounts of the 250+ political prisoners for whom we advocate. These prisoners are among the political prisoners in America who were targeted in the domestic “war on terror,” criminally prosecuted, and incarcerated due to their political views, beliefs, cultural identity, or activism/charity. These prisoners are serving lengthy, draconian sentences for no more than manufactured or thought crimes and we continue to advocate for their freedom and justice.

For many of these prisoners, this vital annual gift is the only financial support they receive all year as they are forced to survive in a predatory prison industrial complex that exploits and depletes struggling families. Your donation will allow them to purchase food for suhoor, hygiene items, or dates from the canteen—or make a phone call to a loved one at an appalling 21 cents per minute.

Beyond the annual Ramadan Gifts Program, CCF has been the cornerstone of challenging injustices bred from the so-called war on terror. CCF has conducted research and produced academic reports, hosted webinars, organized grassroots campaigns, and spearheaded policy efforts. As the only U.S.-based organization that works directly with those incarcerated due to post-9/11 targeting, surveillance, and criminalization of Muslim communities, your support is critical.

Every year, we have managed to continue our Ramadan Gifts Program and other important programs only through your generous donations. We are once again asking for your support to ensure the continuation of CCF’s mission and that the 250+ unjustly imprisoned men and women are not forgotten. Inshallah, your intention and sadaqah will be counted to feed a fasting and wrongfully-imprisoned person—and thus be rewarded exponentially.
