Did you know June 3 is World Bicycle Day?
At the Community Cycling Center, so much of what we do through our mission to broaden access to cycling is tied to local and international aims to curb the spread of climate change, improve access to cycling including its benefits for people of all backgrounds, and to build community through bicycles.
This World Bicycle Day, we are asking for your generosity to directly support our Community Bike Drives through a new door to door model (with safe distancing) where children from low-income backgrounds will receive a helmet and bicycle to call their own!
To date, the Community Cycling Center has provided over 12,000 bicycles to Portlanders and empowered thousands more through low-income services at our nonprofit bike shop on NE Alberta St.
Please give today to support our Community Bike Drives during this pandemic, so youth from families who otherwise struggle to afford bicycles can experience the health and psychological benefits of cycling.
If you love our work, or cycling (or both!), take the next step and click on "I Want to Fundraise for This" above. In just a couple minutes (seriously), you'll have your own campaign (or a team campaign with friends/coworkers) to support this World Bicycle Day campaign!
Finally, please also use the social media buttons above to share and raise the profile of Community Cycling Center and World Bicycle Day. Together, let's bring the joy of life on two wheels to more kids in our community!
