COVID-19 has hit Nepal’s remote communities with an unprecedented economic crisis that will affect generations to come. Traditional means of earning income are no longer an option. With the nationwide lockdown in place, vulnerable families are unable to buy or sell basic goods, including food and seeds. Public health facilities in remote villages lack even the most basic equipment to diagnose or treat COVID patients, and will be quickly overwhelmed should the virus spread.

For the past 22 years, dZi and partners like you have helped Nepal’s vulnerable families endure a number of serious crises – from the 2015 earthquakes to the civil war. We have learned that the key to creating true resilience is focusing on long-term systematic change. Because together we have created safe spaces for education, more productive farming techniques, bridges to connect remote areas, clean water systems, access to markets and trade systems - Nepali people in our project areas have a strong foundation upon which to stand and bravely face this economic crisis.

Our goal is to raise a total of $150,000 for families in Nepal's remote villages. $75,000 in new funds will unlock a generous $75,000 match from our Visionary Society donors - thus doubling your impact! Every gift matters.

We know that with your help, and by following dZi’s proven community partnership methods, Nepal will weather this storm.
