#NightWithoutABed is an event that raises awareness for families experiencing homelessness.

On June 26, we challenge you to spend a Night Without A Bed to raise awareness about family homelessness and support Family Promise of Morris County’s mission to end housing insecurity in our community. Share your experience with friends and family on social media and bring empathy and insight to the conversation.

How can you participate?

1. Give up the comfort of your bed for one night. Build a cardboard “city” in your backyard or spread out in the backseat of your car. Challenge your friends to do the same!

2. Ask friends and family to sponsor your night by donating to Family Promise of Morris County right here on this page. (You can also create your own peer-to-peer fundraising page by choosing "I Want To Fundraise For This" below.) Every dollar raised will directly support Morris County families in need.

3. Post about your Night Without A Bed on social media. Make sure to use the hashtag #NightWithoutABed and tag @familypromisemorris.

“Now especially, people that we’re seeing in need include women that had to reduce work hours to care for their children or who have been laid off due to the pandemic. Even people that were donors before or were able to piece together the funds to keep going can’t anymore,” said Family Promise of Morris County CEO Joann Bjornson, LSW. “We’re working to serve a whole new population that’s in need.”

As the pandemic and worsening housing crisis persist, we hope to offer both a moment of grief for all that we have lost this year and hope for what we have found — the power of community.
