Florida Farmworkers Feed the World
Since 2005, the Long Sleeve Relief drive has been a Lenten staple for Florida Catholic readers. The focus of the drive is to donate clean, used or new men’s and women’s cotton long-sleeve shirts that can be used by migrant and seasonal farm workers in our Florida fields. Long Sleeve Relief also works to create awareness of the conditions farmworkers face and the vital role they play in the economy.
During Lent, generously giving to Long-Sleeve Relief will help to create a better world - one that values and protects the 150,000 to 200,000 migrant and seasonal farm workers and their families who annually travel and work in Florida to harvest crops such as citrus, sugarcane, tomatoes, peppers, cotton, watermelons, peanuts, snap beans, and potatoes. And since people need these crops in order to thrive, you are also helping to create a healthier and happier Florida for everyone who calls it home.
Remember, all contributions are tax-deductible.
