As of Tuesday morning, at least seven states have declared a state of emergency and more than 5.1 million people are without heat and power across the U.S. as a deadly winter storm creates sub-zero temperatures in regions unaccustomed to freezing weather. For cities like Houston, which is currently leading the nation in evictions, rates of homelessness are climbing. This means thousands of unhoused people are currently facing life threatening conditions, and below freezing temperatures are forecast to continue to affect more than 245 million people in the contiguous 48 states over the next seven days.

Our Beyond Belief Network teams in the affected region work throughout the year to provide necessities to people experiencing homelessness. With this recent freezing weather crisis, there is special urgency to make certain our teams have enough supplies, particularly cold weather gear, to aid this vulnerable population. You can help us rush funds to local BBN teams so they can ensure the people they serve are warm and safe both immediately and throughout the cold-weather months.
