Puerto Rico has recently declared a state of emergency after being struck by a series of earthquakes, including a devastating 6.4 magnitude earthquake on January 7th.

Currently, many victims of the earthquakes in Puerto Rico’s southern coast are still sleeping outside in camps and shelters. There’s been significant damage to the region’s infrastructure that is preventing families from returning to their homes, and businesses from serving their communities.

We’ve created the Puerto Rico Earthquake Relief Fund to ensure resources get where they’re needed most—and not just in the short-term. Unlike traditional emergency relief projects, we know there’s still important work to be done after the lights come back on. We started this fund to go beyond the immediate need and ensure communities get the support they need to rebuild, and to thrive. Together with our partners, the Foundation for Puerto Rico will continue to work to address immediate challenges as well as implement long-term initiatives that create sustainable, resilient economic growth at the community level.
