FAD Kilimanjaro Climb for Water in Tanzania

by Friends for African Development

*COVID-19 Update: Our climb plans are currently on hold due to travel restrictions and COVID-19. We hope to be able to climb as soon as possible, and your support of digging wells is STILL VITAL! Read below.*

Without access to clean water, women and young girls spend a significant amount of time traveling to wells just so that their family and livestock can drink. Improved irrigation, plumbing, and sanitation are desperately needed among the communities in the Longido District in Tanzania. Without running water, disease spreads more quickly than ever.

Friends for African Development is bringing these necessities to the Maasai people in Longido.  In June 2020, our team will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for well-building projects all across the district. These projects will bring safe, clean water directly into villages for improved quality of life and economic development.

Over 25 million people in Tanzania cannot easily access safe drinking water - half the population.  With your generous help, we can change their story for the better.
