Me & You’s Project Love!

Every year on Valentine's Day we go out to our communities, and provide toiletry bags, winter wear, blankets, and warm meals to our city's homeless. We wake up at 6 a.m. to cook the meals, and take everything to the sidewalks and streets where our homeless reside, and pass them out.

We'll be taking extra precautions this year, in light of COVID-19, to ensure that we're safe and we're keeping our communities safe. Your donations will help us put together 40 toiletry packages, blankets, winter hats, gloves and scarves for those without a home!

As a start-up 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we work to advocate for students and those without a home in the D.C. metro region. We're a grassroots, minority-led, female-owned organization. We partner with schools in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia to provide students with the necessary items and services for a well-rounded life. We currently partner with five schools and are in the process of expanding. Our students come from low-income families in diverse communities and some are homeless or live in temporary housing. We work with teachers and administrative staff at each school to determine need, and from there we provide support. We provide essential toiletries, clothing, grocery store gift cards, school supplies, and more.

Alongside our mission to advocate for students from low-income families, is our mission to help those without a home in our city, by distributing home-cooked meals, care packages, winter clothes, and other necessities. Over the years, we've made a direct impact with over 400 of our city's homeless. In the District, there are 9,763 homeless individuals, according to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.
