During our first 3 years in operation, the Resident Relief Foundation has assisted over 150 families and individuals across the country facing an emergency that prevented them from paying their rent. These are responsible residents who had always paid rent timely before their emergency. Most also had the means to recover from the emergency yet, they were facing eviction and 30% of them say they would have been homeless without our assistance.

We developed relationships with and received referrals from LAHSA and L.A. Family Housing. We encouraged some of our applicants to find additional work, apply for jobs they hadn’t considered and helped some with their resumes and LinkedIn profiles. We counseled grantees to take the first steps necessary to better manage their finances going forward and provided them with online financial education at our cost. Some were able to get additional help from different agencies like the VA or local senior programs. A handful were able to appeal HUD, Social Security or the VA for benefit corrections.

COVID-19 has brought us new and eye-opening challenges.  There are so many more people facing eviction and on the verge of homelessness.  With your help, we can help even more deserving tenants as we face new demands in 2021 and beyond.  Thank you!
