During this first year in operation, the Resident Relief Foundation assisted over 50 families and individuals who had never paid rent late before their emergency. They also had the means to recover from the emergency. They were facing eviction and 25% tell us that they would have been homeless. We developed relationships with and received referrals from LAHSA and L.A. Family Housing. We encouraged some of our applicants to find additional work, apply for jobs they hadn’t considered and helped them with their resumes. We counseled all grantees to take the first steps necessary to better manage their finances going forward and provided them with the ability to take an online financial course at our cost. Some were able to get additional help from different agencies like the VA or local senior programs. A handful were able to appeal HUD, Social Security or the VA for benefit corrections. One grant was given to a firefighter with a severe back injury waiting for his disability hearing who would otherwise have had to wait it out while living in his car.

Your donations will help us help more good responsible tenants in 2019.  Thank you!
