Your contribution will help women of color, immigrant, and refugee chefs access the resources they need to build thriving businesses. Home to Food Innovation Network’s Food Business Incubator program, Spice Bridge provides the affordable kitchen and retail space entrepreneurs need to get their businesses off the ground. Open since September, our 2,800-square-foot facility includes a commercial kitchen with four cook stations, four food retail stalls, and a community dining area. Eight food vendors rotate through the food hall stalls, offering culinary experiences that reflect the diversity of our community. Five additional businesses use the kitchen for off-site sales, such as pop-ups and packaged products.

Subsidized space is just one element of our program—we also assist entrepreneurs with all aspects of building a business, from licensing and permitting to menu development and marketing. Your contribution will help create pathways to successful entrepreneurship for current Incubator participants—the owners of Afella Jollof Catering, Chef Jalissa Culinary Co., Jazze's, Mamá Tila, Monique's Hot Kitchen, Moyo Kitchen, Naija Buka, Seatango, Soozveen, Taste of Congo, Theary Cambodian Foods, Wengay's Kitchen, and WUHA—as well as future women business owners.

In addition to helping to create economic security for business owners and their families, Spice Bridge helps build food security in our community. The space supports our Tukwila Village Farmers Market, which makes fresh, local produce affordable and accessible. Spice Bridge is also utilized for our community meals program, which has provided more than 8,700 no-cost meals for seniors and families in need.

When COVID-19 restrictions end, the kitchen will accommodate up to 15 businesses. The food hall space will open for indoor dining, art performances, pop-ups, and other events, making Spice Bridge a community hub—a place to learn about and celebrate our community's rich diversity.
