#GivingTuesday is a world-wide celebration of charitable giving and an opportunity to support causes that are dear to your heart. This Thanksgiving, we are grateful to you for being part of the Green Beetz community. We are in the midst of a health and environmental crisis. A third of New York's children are obese or overweight. And, our current food system is not only harming our health, it's harming the environment. More than ever, we need to empower and enable our kids and their families to reconnect with where their food comes from, and educate them on how small choices in what we eat can lead to big impact on our health and the planet.
Green Beetz believes in preparing youth for a healthy and sustainable future by engaging them around what's in their food and how what they eat impacts their bodies and the environment. Our ready-to-teach, hands-on, activity-based curriculum program provides 4th-7th graders with cooking experience, access to healthy, local food, and a deeper and holistic understanding of our modern food system, all of which enables them to make healthier choices for themselves and their communities.
Will you Give the Gift of Green Beetz and help us raise $15,000 this holiday season to support the implementation of our program in over 125 classrooms? With your support, Green Beetz will enable nearly 3,000 students across New York City's most underserved neighborhoods to engage in what they eat and become advocates at home, at school, and in their communities for a healthier food landscape.
Green Beetz is a non-profit that empowers elementary and middle school students to navigate the modern food system, and to make healthy and sustainable food choices. Through innovative media tools and hands-on activities, students learn about how their food choices matter -- not just for the health of their bodies, but also for the health of the planet.
