25 Anniversary Art for Liberation Fund

by Groundswell Community Mural Project

For 25 years, Groundswell has used art as a tool for liberation.

Art creates community and community creates change. We take pride in empowering the voices of young people of color, artists of color, and New York City communities throughout our mission to turn blank walls into spaces of public dialogue. A Groundswell mural is a mirror, reflecting and amplifying the voices of the community around which it stands.

As Groundswell continues to grow and expand, so do our needs. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that Groundswell maintain our commitment to equity. We want to continue to elevate youth vision through exposure to a high-quality arts education rooted in racial and social justice.

It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary Art for Liberation Fund. Throughout the year Groundswell will be celebrating the youth, the artists and the communities that have collectively created over 600 pieces of public art since our inception. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to support our programming in schools, community initiatives, and our year-long residency programs, where we serve over 800 young people each year.

Help us foster the next generation of changemakers and problem solvers by donating to the Art for Liberation Fund today.
