We want to process 10% of Providence's residential food waste right here in the city. That's why we’re turning a former Brownfield site at 34 Fuller Street into the West End Composting Hub -- a model community composting site and compost education center.

Compost is a resource, and we want to keep it close to home. 25% of our compost will be sold to community gardens at a steeply discounted rate, supporting local urban agriculture. Additionally, the new compost site will create several full-time, skilled green jobs for neighborhood residents.

The first step in this process is site remediation. We have secured $205,000 from the DEM to remove contamination from the site and replace the ground cover. However, in order to receive this funding, we must raise $41,000 in match funds and we need your help!
