Dear Friend of the Heartland Men’s Chorus,
What a tumultuous year it’s been. As if the pandemic isn't enough, we’re living in a country that is terribly divided. Divided by a pandemic, politics, injustice, hate, and fear. I think we can all agree that the HMCKC vision statement – singing to inspire a world of love and acceptance – is needed, perhaps now more than ever.
As you know, we haven’t been able to sing for you since the December 2019 concert. No one misses that more than the members of the Chorus, the Board of Directors and staff, and nothing helps more than the encouraging notes, phone calls, emails, and yes, donations, to the Chorus. These keep us going, both financially and spiritually during these times of uncertainty. We are grateful for your support and love.
This year, we were supposed to be presenting concerts for our 35th season of providing great music and messages to the Kansas City community. We owe the legacy of 35 years to YOU – our faithful friends. So it is to you that we come once more.
Our goal for our year end fundraising effort is to raise $35,000 in celebration of our 35 years. It is with great excitement to announce that we will receive a $10,000 matching gift - matching the first $10,000 given! Because of this generous match, we feel that $35,000 is very attainable. But we can’t do it without your help.
The Heartland Men’s Chorus Kansas City is accomplishing great things – even during the pandemic. We’ve released a virtual cabaret performance, with the second coming on December 12, launched a new branding campaign that won a Philly Award from Nonprofit Connect (check it out at hmckc.org) held 2 successful drag queen delivery fundraisers, a shoe drive to help not only the Chorus, but those in need of shoes, and worked with our members in a plethora of ways to maintain not only music and singing, but social interaction that keeps the mission and vision of HMCKC in their hearts and minds.
Please give as much as you can. I know that you will help make sure that the Chorus is here and ready to go when we can sing for you safely again. Our legacy, and our future, depends on you.
