A project first envisioned in the 80's, the Hope-To-Be, Too Waterfront Update is a comprehensive plan to make the Mowglis Waterfront safer, more natural, and more suitable for the camper population we support today. The overhaul will be centered around the building Hope-To-Be, first constructed in 1907 when there were only 25 campers. Now, with a consistent enrollment of 120 campers, accommodations need to be made.

Taking great care to be mindful of our role as stewards of the environment, and the proximity of our current waterfront layout to a series of wetlands, the choice was made to construct a new building to serve as the beating heart of operations on the lake - Hope-To-Be, Too. Using lumber sourced from the Mowglis property itself, the Post-and-Beam structure will have increased space for changing rooms for campers and staff, classroom space for rainy-day instruction, office space for the Watermaster and lifeguards, and an elevated location to ensure improved line-of-site for swimmer and boater safety. In addition to the new building, improvements to the shoreline, existing buildings, emergency access, and sailing fleet will be included in the project.

Following the success of our recent Endowment Campaign thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, Mowglis is in its strongest position yet to take on a project of this scale - one which will ensure that the Hope-To-Be, Too and the surrounding Waterfront can serve generations of new campers as they enjoy the pristine waters of Newfound Lake.
