From ISC Artistic Director, Melissa Chalsma:

Thank you for believing in the importance of the arts.

For 17 years, we’ve been honored to bring Los Angeles the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival, alongside year-round offerings in our indoor Studio.

During that time, we’ve shared many incredible moments with you: from the time you leaped onstage with your picnic blankets to help mop up after a rainstorm so the show could go on, to the moment when a city-wide power outage put out the lights in the park, and you pulled out your cellphones and lit the stage. Hundreds of tiny beams joined together to make a powerful illumination.

It's this sense of shared purpose that animates our work: we are grateful to have you, our audience, as collaborators, and we don't take our relationship with you lightly. We're committed to continuing to create work for you which will provide moments of joy and reflection. It may look a bit different as we explore new artistic avenues, but it is guided by the same spirit of exuberance and excellence.

We also remain committed to the health and well being of our ISC family: our staff remains employed and is working from home, and we are creating new ways to provide artists with paid work.

And despite the uncertainties of today, we're imagining the future. When we can all be together again, we believe theater will play an important role in re-establishing connections, creating shared moments, and invigorating our community.

Tomorrow will arrive. And with your help, ISC will be here to welcome all Angelenos back to the shared experience of live theater. Your support now helps create that future. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
