Due to the current war in Ukraine, our stabilization and counseling services are in high demand and will be needed for years to come. International Mental Health Consulting, Inc. (IMHC) currently has Ukraine and US-based teams of qualified psychological counselors providing immediate and long-term services to Ukraines impacted by the war. Services are provided to communities both in-person and through telehealth.

Our US-based team is providing ongoing supervision, consultation, and training for our Ukraine-based teams, partnering with experts to develop culturally-relevant, trauma-informed resources to facilitate daily health & healing for adults, children and adolescents, and support groups for parents and children.

Donations directly support the mental health care of people in Ukraine. We are building the Ukraine Institute of Traumatherapy, a state-of-the art, first of its kind complex with a physical rehabilitation unit, residential trauma, addiction, and mental health treatment for veterans and an outpatient center for veterans and their families.

Land has been purchased and architectural plans are drawn up. Now we need to raise $42,000 to complete preparations for the first building. This will cover the finishing of the detailed architectural and engineering plans, the detailed budget and state permits.

Building 1 will cost about $3,225,000 to build, the whole complex will be about $18M to complete. Who We Are. International Mental Health Consulting, Inc.'s (IMHC) larger purpose is to consult, educate, supervise, and provide services to private and public entities in the area of mental health and rehabilitation throughout the world. However, our primary and current operations are focused on educating, training, supporting, and supervising practicing clinicians throughout Ukraine.

Where Our Story Began. Our president and founder, Dr. Olya Zaporozhets, saw the need for improved standards of care for mental health in Ukraine. With her vision and dedication, in 2016, Dr. Zaporozhets established a master's degree program and training program for counselors, The International Institute of Postgraduate Education, and in 2018 helped found a counseling center, Open Doors, in Kyiv, Ukraine. IMHC, Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit that supports the work of both the Ukraine-based graduate program and counseling center. IMHC offers cross-cultural training, education, supervision, and consultation that is trauma-informed, research-supported, and culturally relevant.
