This summer, Congress is hard at work building a new Transportation Bill, the guiding document that establishes our national transportation priorities for the next five years.

Please keep the League rolling this summer with a contribution at any amount, and we'll keep up the pressure here in Washington: connecting on both sides of the aisle with leaders and advocates in transportation, equity and the environment, to advance a bill that prioritizes bicycling and safety for all road users.

Give $120 or more, and we'll send you our limited-edition PoCampo + League collaboration BLIP bag: good for water bottles, phones, snacks, and anything you need at arms' reach.

Our federal priorities for the year are clear:

  • Transportation Reauthorization: We'll work to boost funding for Transportation Alternatives, with provides 50% of all federal funds for biking and walking. In fact, roughly 80% of all bike infrastructure has federal funding origins.
  • Administration: working directly with Secretary Pete Buttigieg and the US Dept of Transportation. Pressuring more action on Complete Streets and centering a Safe Systems Approach can reduce dangerous driving behaviors and incentivize bicycling.
  • American Jobs Plan: collaborating with allies in the Administration and partners on the Hill to ensure that themes in the American Jobs Plan such as Safe Streets for All, Fix it Right and people-centric design result in investment in biking and walking.
  • Being Opportunistic: we'll continued to utilize our relationships and know-how on Capitol Hill to protect the interests of all who ride. For instance, with Autonomous Vehicle legislation perpetually on the horizon, we're prepared to advocate for a vision test to ensure AV's see and respond to people on bikes and vulnerable road users of all races and ethnicities.

*offer good July 12-18 to all donors via bikeleague.org/give. Box is Bikeflights' medium-sized cardboard container and voucher is single-use, domestic shipping, one-way or round-trip.
