Support Education at the Tenement Museum

by Tenement Museum

Why do we believe in providing immigration and migration (im/migration) education?

  1. Because educators need high quality im/migration resources
  2. Because understanding our complicated history helps the next generation to build a better future
  3. Because telling their story helps students make connections and build empathy
  4. Because exploring our stories humanizes im/migration experiences
  5. Because understanding our complicated history helps the next generation to build a better future
  6. Because cable news shouldn't be a student's only source of immigration information
  7. Because im/migration history IS American history

To reach thousands more teachers and students, we recently launched a new curriculum with comprehensive and interactive resources that are built on the stories of real people who lived in Tenement Museum buildings in the Lower East Side of New York City.

“The most powerful thing for a teacher to see is students seeing each other as equals.”

   – Scott Jackson, High School Teacher in Brooklyn, NY

On this #GivingTuesday, please consider making a gift to offer more students the opportunity to benefit from our immersive, storytelling approach to education.

Thank you!
