September 11th is a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Show your support for those in our community affected by the terrorist attacks on 9/11 by sponsoring a care package for a military service member overseas or a veteran in need at home. Care packages will be built and shipped during a special event hosted by the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund in Boston on September 11th. Donations received during this campaign will be used to fill these care packages, as well as to care for post 9/11 bereaved families served by Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund all year-round.
The 9/11 Service Project to Support Our Troops and Families will bring together hundreds of volunteers from across Massachusetts in a day of service and remembrance on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Activities will include building care packages for the troops overseas, care packages for Massachusetts veterans in need, writing letters of support to our troops, and a pledge drive for the bereaved families supported by the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund.
Since 2009, the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund has asked our community to mark September 11th with acts of service, as a way to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11, as well as the military service members who have died fighting terrorism overseas.
