Organizers Lou Campbell and Mike Donnahue hope to raise money for homeless and jobless Veterans in Duluth and the surrounding area.  They are excited to announce they have a matching donation for the first $5,000 donated to this event!  These funds will go direct to support Veterans in the Duluth and northern area of Minnesota.

“If we get 100 people to donate $20 apiece for our viral event, that would be fantastic,” Campbell said. “But we’re shooting for $10,000, and we think we can raise it. We know that there’s a lot of our people out there who we know [are] happy to donate.”

The Tribute Fest was set up to raise awareness and funds for homeless Veterans in Minnesota. Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is a nonprofit organization that has assisted Veterans for over 25 years, helping over 5,500 veterans and their families. It is estimated that 1% of the Veterans in the state, or close to 4,100 people, experience an episode of homelessness this year. MACV is here to assist!

Currently in Minnesota, there are 276 known Veterans waiting for a place to call home tonight. These men and women are sleeping in shelters, churches, cars, garages, or tents in every corner of our state. In 2019, MACV provided direct case management services to 1,028 Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Minnesota. Additionally, we assist 4,000+ Veterans each year with accessing benefits and services through partner agencies.

Our supporters’ donations provide these Veterans with comprehensive support and a path to self-reliance. You can help us ensure these Veterans have permanent housing and a safety net that is always available.

At MACV, our mission is to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota, with a vision for every Veteran in Minnesota to have access to services and supports needed to avoid homelessness and maintain sustainable housing. We accomplish our mission through case management, financial assistance, legal services, and employment assistance.
