Mission Hope for Kids is an afterschool mentorship program in Hardin and Grayson counties, KY. We help 200 low-income students and their families by providing academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual care.

Due to COVID-19, many of our students are already behind academically. It is the mission of our organization, and this event, to give them the resources necessary to reach their full potential and prevent the Summer Slide. 

•  The Summer Slide is a learning loss that occurs over the summer and disproportionately affects low-income children. 
• 2 months of reading skills and 2 1/2 months of math skills are lost over the course of a single summer. 
• By the time students enter Middle School, they will have lost two years' worth of learning to the summer slide.
