Since its establishment in 2003, New Hope Grief Support Community has been dedicated to serving bereaved children and families in the Greater Long Beach area and Southern California.

The mission of New Hope Grief Support Community is to assist bereaved children and families in finding hope and healing through connection and support. Recognizing the profound challenges of isolation, loneliness, sorrow, and grief that accompany the loss of a loved one, New Hope is committed to helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds navigate these difficulties.

New Hope provides community-based programs led by compassionate volunteers who have themselves experienced the pain of loss. Through programs such as peer support groups, family programs, and school groups, we create a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can share their experiences and emotions. New Hope aims to inject more grief-informed workers into our community who are competent and confident in providing bereavement services to children and families. This is accomplished by New Hope's internship program and by providing grief education through professional development training, offering the knowledge, support, and resources needed to effectively work with grieving people in the community.
