As a 100% donation-based and volunteer-based organization, Niagara Heritage of Hope and Service relies solely on events, fundraisers, public tours of our complex, private donations and sales from our Community Thrift Store. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all revenue streams and volunteer support has come to a complete halt. With the New York State's mandate to close non-essential businesses, the following decisions and actions were taken:

Cancellation of public Historic Tours on April 9 and April 10 and Presentation of Shroud of Turin Presentation and Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser May 17, 2020; three (3) groups cancelled reservations for use of our Retreat Center between March and May; and Closed our Community Thrift Store effective 3/15/2020.  Our financial review indicates that we have already lost $3,700 in revenue from these cancellations and closures through May 25, 2020.

In addition, the longer we are unable to open our doors:

Summer rental of International student J1 Work Visa program (to be determined if the students will be able to travel to the US) is in jeopardy; potential loss of $6,000 and the uncertainty of our annual fundraiser, which brought in over 400 people in 2019, will need to be cancelled for 2020; potential loss of $10,000.  As a 100% volunteer based organization, we fall through the cracks to obtain funds through the CARES Act because we do not have paid staff.  Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will truly help us keep our lights on.  Thank you!
